Lost, faulty or stolen your Nissan Juke key? The Juke’s bold styling made it a Bristol favourite — but a modern crossover that will not detect its Intelligent Key is a car you cannot start, and the old “pop to a key cutter” fix simply does not apply.
A main dealer will want the Juke recovered, an appointment days away, and a bill stacking the fob, the coding and the transport. A general locksmith cannot programme it either: the Juke runs Nissan’s NATS immobiliser with a BCM and security PIN, so an uncoded key opens the door but never starts the engine.
Lock City is a Nissan-capable mobile locksmith carrying the dealer-level software and the correct Intelligent Key and transponder blanks your Juke needs. We come to you, cut the NSN14 blade and code the key to your immobiliser on-site — no towing, no dealer delay, every Juke key replacement guaranteed. Phone 07967 097 899, Mon–Fri 8am–5:30pm.
Nissan Juke Keys: Types & What You Need
The Juke has run through two generations with different key systems. Telling us the generation (or your reg) means we arrive with exactly the right blank, chip and software:
Juke F15 (2010–2019)
- Blade: NSN14 blade.
- Key: a bladed remote key with a transponder (Hitag2 / ID46, NATS) on entry trims, and the Nissan Intelligent Key (proximity) with a hidden emergency blade on higher-spec cars.
- All-keys-lost: programmed by OBD at the roadside with the BCM/PIN taken from the vehicle.
Juke F16 (2019–present)
- Key: Intelligent Key proximity smart fob common across the range, on the Renault–Nissan CMF-B platform (shared with the current Micra and Renault Clio).
- Electronics: a newer, more secure (AES-era) system — not a clone-and-go key.
- All-keys-lost: roadside-programmable with current software; keyless AKL takes a little longer than a spare.
The Juke job we see most
- An “I-Key not detected” warning that is really just a flat CR2032 fob battery — often a quick fix via the backup start procedure, not a new key.
- One-fob households where a single lost smart key turns straight into an all-keys-lost job.
Note: the exact I-Key-vs-bladed split on the F15, and F16 chip revisions, vary by trim and build date [verify against your VIN]. Tell us your reg and we will confirm the key type before we set off.

Which key does a Nissan Juke use?
Depending on the generation and trim, the Nissan Juke is fitted with the remote key with a separate blade and the smart proximity (keyless) key. Tell us your registration and we will confirm which one your vehicle carries before quoting.

- Smart proximity (keyless) key
Nissan Juke Key Replacement — Your Questions Answered
Can you replace a Nissan Juke key without going to a dealer?
Yes. We cut and programme Juke keys at the roadside for both the F15 and F16 using dealer-level Nissan software — including Intelligent Key smart fobs and older bladed keys — with no recovery to a dealer. See our Nissan key programming service.
My Juke won’t detect the key — is the fob dead?
Usually it is just a flat CR2032 battery in the Intelligent Key. You can normally still start the car using the backup procedure (holding the fob to the marked spot and pressing start). If a new battery does not fix it, we test the fob and the BCM before recommending a replacement.
I’ve lost all the keys to my Juke — what happens now?
We treat it as an all-keys-lost job: we generate a fresh Intelligent Key or bladed key, cut the blade and code it to your NATS immobiliser at the roadside, so the Juke starts before we leave. More detail on our lost car keys page.
Does a keyless Juke cost more to replace than an older one?
Generally yes. An Intelligent Key smart fob sits in a higher price tier than an older bladed transponder key, because the part costs more and the programming takes longer. We carry both types, so whichever Juke you have, we can sort it in one visit.
Is my keyless Juke at risk of relay theft?
Like any keyless car, yes — so keep the fob in a Faraday pouch and the spare away from the front door. If a fob is lost or stolen, we can programme a new one and disable the old. See our stolen car keys service.
