Folding (flip) remotes — the earlier Hyundais
- Older i10, i20, i30, the ix20 and earlier Santa Fe use a folding/flip remote with a transponder from the ID46 / Hitag2 family. We cut the blade and code the chip to the immobiliser on-site.
Smart proximity keys — N-Line trims and the SUVs
- The Tucson N-Line, Kona and the current Santa Fe use keyless smart proximity keys with push-button start, built around a more secure AES transponder. The flip-to-smart cut-over varies by model and build date [verify against your VIN].
E-GMP EVs and the Bluelink digital key
- The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 (Hyundai’s E-GMP electric cars), along with the Kona Electric, pair with Hyundai’s Bluelink digital key so a phone can act as a key alongside the smart fob. We still supply and programme a physical smart key — that is what an all-keys-lost job needs.
The immobiliser PIN is the pivot
- All-keys-lost on any Hyundai depends on the immobiliser security code (PIN). With dealer-level kit we read or calculate it and then code a fresh key — the step a high-street cutter cannot do.
