Spare & fleet keysRegain Entry Into Your Citroën Dispatch
A Citroën Dispatch off the road is money lost. For a courier, a mobile trade or a fleet, the medium Dispatch is the business — so a lost, stolen or snapped key does not just cost a key, it costs the delivery run and the day’s work.
The dealer route means recovery to the branch, an appointment that suits them not you, and a bill stacking the key, the coding and the transport while the van sits idle. A general locksmith cannot programme it — the Dispatch runs a Stellantis (PSA) immobiliser, so an uncoded key is useless.
Lock City is a mobile van locksmith that comes to your yard, depot or the roadside. We cut the HU83 blade, code the key to your immobiliser on-site and get you moving — no towing, no lost day. We also supply fleet and spare keys so a single failure never takes a van off the road. Call 07967 097 899, Mon–Fri 8am–5:30pm.
Citroën Dispatch Keys: Types & What You Need
The Dispatch has run two very different key systems across its life, so the generation matters for both cost and tooling:
Dispatch Gen 1 / 2 (1994–2016)
- Blade: older PSA VA2 external-cut profile.
- Transponder: Hitag2 (ID46) — OBD-programmable at the roadside.
- Remote: transponder key or a two/three-button remote head.
Dispatch Gen 3 / K0 (2016–present, EMP2)
- Blade: newer high-security HU83 laser blade.
- Remote: flip (switchblade) remote as standard; keyless proximity entry on higher trims.
- Transponder: Hitag2 / AES secure chip; all-keys-lost is roadside-programmable with dealer-level software.
The sibling truth (genuine information gain)
The current Dispatch shares the EMP2 platform — and the exact same Stellantis key system — with the Peugeot Expert, Fiat Scudo, Toyota Proace and the 2019-on Vauxhall Vivaro. Five badges, one HU83 key system — so the “which van is it really?” question rarely changes the job for us.
Note: the VA2-to-HU83 change tracks the 2016 platform switch, and keyless availability varies by trim [verify against your VIN]. Tell us your reg and we will confirm the blade and chip before we travel.

ReplacementWhich key does a Citroën Dispatch Van use?
Depending on the generation and trim, the Citroën Dispatch Van is fitted with the bladed transponder key, flip (switchblade) remote key and the smart proximity (keyless) key. Tell us your registration and we will confirm which one your vehicle carries before quoting.

Citroën Dispatch Van Key Replacement — Your Questions Answered
Can you programme a Citroën Dispatch key at the roadside?
Yes. Both the older VA2 Dispatch and the 2016-on HU83 Dispatch are programmed on-site by OBD with our dealer-level Stellantis software — no recovery to a dealer, no days-long wait. See our van locksmith solutions.
Is the Citroën Dispatch the same van as a Peugeot Expert or Vauxhall Vivaro?
Since 2016, yes — the Dispatch, Peugeot Expert, Fiat Scudo, Toyota Proace and the 2019-on Vivaro are the same EMP2 van with the same key system. The only real catch is the Vivaro: pre-2019 it was a Renault, so “which Vivaro?” matters — the Dispatch has no such split.
My Dispatch has a keyless fob — can you replace it?
Yes. Higher-trim Gen 3 Dispatch vans use a keyless proximity fob, and we carry the blanks and current software to code one to your van at the roadside, including all-keys-lost. Give us the reg and we will confirm whether yours is keyless or a flip key.
Can you come to our depot and key a fleet of Dispatch vans?
Yes. We regularly attend depots, yards and sites to cut and programme spare or replacement keys across multiple vans in one visit. See our replacement van keys service.
My older Dispatch key still turns but the remote is dead — new key?
Usually not. On the older Dispatch this is most often a flat fob battery or a worn micro-switch, not a failed transponder. We can replace the battery or repair the remote for a fraction of a new coded key.
