The 207 (2006–2014) is a pre-Stellantis, PSA-era supermini with a consistent key system across its life — telling us the trim mainly decides whether you have a plain transponder key or a flip remote:
207 (A7, 2006–2014) — PSA / BSI immobiliser
- Blade: VA2 external-cut blade.
- Transponder: Philips/NXP Hitag2 — the PCF7941 (ID46) chip — on the BSI immobiliser.
- Remote: a plain transponder key on the most basic trims; a two- or three-button flip (switchblade) remote is common on higher trims (Sport, Allure, GT) [verify against your VIN].
- BSI precode: the 207 usually needs the PIN / precode read from the BSI before a key will programme — we read it on-site by OBD, so there is no module to remove or send away.
- Keyless: the 207 is not a keyless car in general — it uses a conventional turn-to-start key, which keeps replacement simpler and cheaper than a modern smart-key Peugeot.
- All-keys-lost: a routine roadside job once the precode is read; we generate and code a fresh key on the spot.

Why does my Peugeot 207 flip key keep failing?
