Regain Entry Into Your Peugeot 107
Lost, snapped or stolen your Peugeot 107 key? The 107 is a compact, cheap-to-run city car — but a lost key still leaves you stranded, because even the simplest 107 has a transponder immobiliser that stops an uncoded key from starting the engine.
A main dealer will still want the 107 recovered, a booking days away, and a bill that stacks the key, the coding and the transport. A high-street key cutter cannot help either — the blade will open the door but the engine will not fire without a key that has been electronically married to the car.
The good news is that the 107 is one of the simpler, cheaper cars to key — with one important twist most locksmiths miss: it uses a Toyota-derived immobiliser, not Peugeot’s usual BSI system. Lock City knows the difference, comes to you with the right blanks and transponders, and cuts and codes the key at the roadside. Peugeot 107 Keys: Types & What You Need
The 107 is the odd one out in the Peugeot range. It was built jointly with the Toyota Aygo and Citroën C1 at the TPCA plant in Kolín, Czech Republic — and, crucially, it uses a Toyota-derived immobiliser and key system rather than PSA’s BSI. That system origin is the whole story:
107 (2005–2014) — TPCA / Toyota-derived immobiliser
- Immobiliser: a Toyota-family system (shared with the Aygo and C1), NOT the PSA/BSI setup used on the 207 and larger Peugeots — so it needs the correct approach and transponder, not a generic PSA key.
- Transponder: a simple fixed-code transponder chip — cheap to duplicate and quick to programme by OBD at the roadside.
- Remote: a plain transponder key on the most basic trims; a two- or three-button remote (fixed head, not a flip) on higher trims [verify against your VIN].
- Keyless: none — the 107 is a conventional turn-to-start car, which keeps replacement about as affordable as car keys get.
- All-keys-lost: a routine roadside job — we generate and code a fresh key on the spot; no modules removed.
Why the shared origin matters
- Aygo / C1 family: if your paperwork or a previous cut mentions a Toyota Aygo or Citroën C1 key, that is expected — the three cars are the same vehicle wearing different badges. The mechanical blade and the Toyota-style immobiliser are shared, so we bring the correct parts for a 107 rather than a standard PSA key.
Note: trim decides whether your 107 has a plain transponder key or a remote [verify against your VIN]. Tell us your reg and we will confirm the key type before we come out.

Spare keyPeugeot 107 Key Replacement — Your Questions Answered
Is a Peugeot 107 key the same as a Toyota Aygo or Citroën C1 key?
Essentially, yes — the three cars were built together at the Kolín plant and share the same body and a Toyota-derived immobiliser. The mechanical blade and key system are common to all three, though the exact transponder can vary by badge and trim, so we always confirm the right part for your 107 before cutting.
Why is the 107 different from other Peugeots to key?
Because it uses a Toyota-family immobiliser rather than Peugeot’s usual BSI system. That is why a generic PSA key or approach will not work on a 107 — it needs the correct Toyota-style transponder. We know the difference and bring the right parts. See our car key programming service.
How much is a replacement Peugeot 107 key in Bristol?
The 107 is one of the cheaper cars to key: it uses a simple transponder with no keyless system, so a spare is the lowest tier and all-keys-lost costs only a little more. Give us your registration and we will confirm the exact figure before we travel.
My 107 came with just one key — should I get a spare?
It is worth it. Many 107s were sold with a single key, so losing it turns a cheap spare-cut into a costlier all-keys-lost job. A programmed spare now saves you being stranded later. See our spare key service.
Can you programme a 107 key at the roadside?
Yes. The 107 is programmed on-site by OBD — there is no need to recover the car to a dealer or wait for an appointment, and all-keys-lost is a routine roadside job. See our lost car keys page.
