Car Key Replacement Across Wiltshire

Stuck in west Wiltshire with a lost, broken or stolen car key? Whether you commute off the M4 at Chippenham, work on one of the Trowbridge or Melksham business parks, or live up a narrow street in Bradford-on-Avon or Corsham, an immobilised car stops everything — and the nearest main dealers are a tow away towards Swindon or Bath.

The dealer route means recovering the car, a booking days out, and a bill stacking the key, the programming and the transport. A high-street key cutter can’t rescue you — the immobiliser won’t accept a key that hasn’t been electronically coded to the car, so an uncoded blade opens the door but never starts the engine.

Lock City is a mobile auto locksmith covering west and north Wiltshire — Chippenham, Trowbridge, Melksham, Bradford-on-Avon, Corsham, Devizes, Warminster, Westbury, Calne and Malmesbury. (We work the M4-corridor towns and the Bath side of the county, not Salisbury and the far south.) We run the M4 (junctions 16–17) and the A350, A36 and A420 daily, carry dealer-level software, cut the blade on-site and code the key at the roadside — no towing, no dealer wait. Every car key replacement and key programming job is guaranteed. Call 07967 097 899, Monday to Friday, 8am–5:30pm.

Getting to You Across Wiltshire

This is west and north Wiltshire — the M4 and A350 corridor — not Salisbury and the far south of the county. Our patch runs from Malmesbury and the M4 (junction 17 for Chippenham, junction 16 for the Swindon side) down the A350 through Chippenham, Melksham, Trowbridge and Westbury, across to Corsham and Bradford-on-Avon on the Bath border, and out to Devizes, Calne and Warminster.

A lot of our Wiltshire work is commuter and business-park based: we regularly attend Methuen Park and Bumpers Farm in Chippenham, the Trowbridge and Bradford Road industrial estates, and the town-centre and station car parks at Chippenham, Melksham and Trowbridge, plus the M4 services and laybys. The A350 north–south and the A420/A4 east–west are our main routes.

Two local specifics matter. Bradford-on-Avon and historic Corsham have steep, narrow, often cobbled streets where we work in situ at the kerb rather than recovering the car — and a key snapped in a stiff old lock is a common winter call there, usually a broken-key extraction and re-cut rather than a whole new key. And because these are M4 commuter towns, a lost key often means a car stranded at a station or park-and-stride with a train to catch — we prioritise getting you a coded key on the spot. Tell us your registration and the nearest town or junction and we’ll confirm the key type and an honest ETA.

Wiltshire FAQs

Car Key Replacement in Wiltshire — Your Questions Answered

How quickly can you reach me in west Wiltshire?

It depends where you are along the corridor. The M4/A350 towns — Chippenham, Melksham, Trowbridge, Corsham, Bradford-on-Avon — are usually quickest, often the same day. Devizes, Warminster, Westbury and the villages take a little longer. We won’t promise a fixed minute-figure across the county; call with your location and we’ll give you a realistic ETA off the nearest junction.

Which part of Wiltshire do you cover — do you reach Salisbury?

We cover west and north Wiltshire — the M4 and A350 corridor: Chippenham, Trowbridge, Melksham, Bradford-on-Avon, Corsham, Devizes, Warminster, Westbury, Calne and Malmesbury. Salisbury and the far south of the county are outside our normal patch. If you’re on the Bath or Somerset border, we cover that comfortably — just call with your postcode.

Can you get into a car on a narrow Bradford-on-Avon or Corsham street?

Yes. Bradford-on-Avon and Corsham have steep, narrow, often cobbled streets, so we work at the kerb with compact, non-destructive entry tools rather than recovering the car. If a key has snapped in a stiff old lock — a common winter call there — we extract it and re-cut on the spot.

How much is a replacement key compared with a Wiltshire dealer?

Usually noticeably less, because you avoid recovery towards Swindon or Bath and the dealer’s programming labour. The key cost depends on your make and whether it’s a spare or all-keys-lost — a transponder or flip key is the lowest tier, a keyless smart fob more. Send us your registration and we’ll confirm the exact price before we set out.

Do you cover the business parks and villages around Chippenham and Trowbridge?

Yes. We regularly attend Methuen Park and Bumpers Farm in Chippenham, the Trowbridge and Bradford Road estates, and the villages in between — Box, Holt, Atworth, Colerne, Lacock, Hilperton and Semington. If you need a fleet or van key sorting at a depot, we can come to site too.
