The blades: MIT8 & MIT11
- Profile: Mitsubishi cuts on the MIT8 (older) and MIT11 (newer, higher-security) blades — used either as the working key or as the emergency blade hidden inside a smart fob [verify against your VIN].
FAST-Key keyless (Free-hand Advanced Security Transmitter)
- System: Mitsubishi’s own proximity smart-key system on the Outlander, ASX and others — keyless entry and push-button start, with a hidden emergency blade.
- Needs: current software and the correct smart-key blank; keyless all-keys-lost takes longer than a spare.
Outlander (including PHEV)
- Petrol & PHEV: the plug-in hybrid Outlander uses the same FAST-Key smart-key system as the petrol, so we programme it the same way.
- The 2021-on model: the current Outlander sits on the Renault–Nissan alliance platform shared with the Nissan X-Trail, so it can use an alliance (Nissan-style) key system rather than classic FAST-Key [verify against your VIN].
ASX — which one do you have?
- ASX 2010–2022: Mitsubishi’s own transponder / FAST-Key system.
- ASX 2023-on: an all-new ASX that is a rebadged Renault Captur — it uses the Renault key system, not FAST-Key [verify against your VIN]. The year completely changes the job.
Shogun (Pajero)
