Regain Entry Into Your Jaguar E-Pace

Lost your Jaguar E-Pace key, or had a keyless fob stolen? On a compact family SUV that does the school run, the kit and the weekends away, an immobilised car brings the whole household to a stop — and as a keyless JLR that shares its platform with the relay-targeted Range Rover Evoque, the E-Pace is a security concern too when a fob goes missing.

A Jaguar dealer will want the car recovered, an appointment you may wait days for, and a bill covering the smart key, the coding and the transport. A general locksmith cannot programme it — the E-Pace uses an encrypted keyless system tied to the Keyless Vehicle Module (KVM), which needs current dealer-level software and the right blank.

Lock City comes to you with exactly that. We supply the correct JLR keyless fob and code it to your E-Pace at the roadside — no towing, no dealer delay. Lost a fob to theft? We programme a fresh key and disable the missing one so it can no longer start the car. See our lost and stolen key services, or call 07967 097 899, Mon–Fri 8am–5:30pm.

Jaguar E-Pace Keys: Types & What You Need

The E-Pace has been keyless throughout its life and shares its platform with the Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport, so the security advice is central, not an afterthought:

Security first — a keyless JLR is a relay-theft target

  • Faraday pouch the fob: the smart key transmits continuously; a signal-blocking pouch stops thieves relaying it from your hallway to the drive.
  • Lost or stolen = re-code: a missing fob can still start the car, so we disable it and code a replacement — a lost keyless key is a security event, not just an access one.
  • Layer it up: keep the spare away from the front door and consider an aftermarket immobiliser or tracker.

Jaguar E-Pace (X540, 2017–present)

  • Blade: HU101-family emergency blade concealed inside the fob (for the door if the battery dies).
  • Key: JLR keyless smart proximity fob as standard, tied to the KVM; petrol, diesel, the mild-hybrid (MHEV) and the P300e plug-in hybrid share the same key architecture.
  • Platform: built on JLR’s D8/PTA platform alongside the Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport — the same keyless family we cover across the JLR range.
  • Activity Key: the waterproof wristband key was offered on some E-Pace trims [verify against your VIN].
  • All-keys-lost: high-value dealer-level programming; a genuine specialist job.

Note: Activity Key availability and the security features on newer builds vary by trim and build date [verify against your VIN]. Give us your reg and we will confirm the fob type and the job before we travel.

The Jaguar E-Pace at a glance

The E-Pace (2017 on) is Jaguar’s compact SUV, sharing the D8 platform with the Discovery Sport and Evoque. It uses the same JLR proximity smart key, so the security profile is closer to a Land Rover than to the saloon Jaguars.

  • Keyless: proximity smart key standard; keyless entry and start [verify against your VIN].
  • Because it is a D8-platform car, the all-keys-lost route mirrors the Discovery Sport, not the XE saloon.

The E-Pace scenarios we see

E-Paces arrive as compact family SUVs, and because they share the Discovery Sport’s platform the owners face the same JLR all-keys-lost restrictions rather than the saloon route. A coded spare while one key works is the common fix.

  • Family SUV needing a coded spare in advance.
  • Owner surprised by JLR all-keys-lost limits.
  • Keyless fob damaged and intermittently read.
Jaguar E-Pace FAQs

Jaguar E-Pace Key Replacement — Your Questions Answered

Can you programme a keyless Jaguar E-Pace key at the roadside?

Yes. The E-Pace uses a JLR keyless smart proximity fob tied to the Keyless Vehicle Module, and we carry the blanks and dealer-level software to code one on-site, including all-keys-lost. It is a high-value specialist job — done properly and guaranteed.

My E-Pace fob was stolen — should I worry?

Yes — a stolen keyless fob can still start the car, and keyless JLRs are relay-theft targets. We programme a new fob and de-register the stolen one so it can no longer unlock or start the car. See our stolen car keys service.

How do I protect my E-Pace from relay theft?

Keep the fob in a Faraday (signal-blocking) pouch, store the spare away from doors and windows, and consider an aftermarket immobiliser or tracker. Relay theft extends your fob’s signal from inside the house to the car, so blocking that signal is the most effective single step.

Does the plug-in hybrid E-Pace use a different key?

No — the P300e plug-in hybrid uses the same JLR keyless smart-key system as the petrol, diesel and mild-hybrid versions, so there is no difference in how we programme it. If you have lost the key to a P300e, we treat it exactly like any other E-Pace.

I’ve lost all the keys to my E-Pace — can you help?

Yes. All-keys-lost is a job we handle regularly: we generate and code a fresh smart fob to your car at the roadside with dealer-level JLR software, so there is no recovery to a dealer. See our lost car keys service.
