The Maxus Key Services We Offer
Maxus Vehicle Entry
Keys locked in the cab or the load area of your Maxus? We gain non-destructive entry — no drilling, no broken glass, no damage — and get you working again.
Lost All Your Maxus Keys?
A Maxus off the road is lost income. All-keys-lost on a modern Maxus means the right SAIC-capable tooling to authorise a fresh key — which we bring to your roadside, yard or depot.
Maxus Key Programming
Flip remotes and keyless smart proximity keys alike — we cut the blade and code Maxus keys to the immobiliser with the specialist, dealer-level software the brand needs.
Spare Maxus Keys
One key across a working van is a gamble. We supply and code a spare Maxus key at your home, yard or site while you still hold a working one.
Regain Entry Into Your Maxus
Lost, damaged or had a Maxus key stolen? Maxus is one of Britain’s fastest-growing commercial-vehicle brands, but it is also one of the youngest here — so a modern Maxus key is not a cut-and-copy job, and it is not a make every locksmith is set up to programme.
Maxus is the commercial-vehicle marque of SAIC Motor — the same Chinese group behind MG — and the vans use modern SAIC electronics: flip remotes and, on higher-spec and newer vehicles, keyless smart proximity keys, running an ID47-class transponder. That is a genuinely modern security system, so a blank cut at a market stall will open nothing and start nothing.
We cover the range, led by the Deliver 9 large panel van — diesel and the all-electric eDeliver 9 alike. Take a Maxus to a franchised dealer and you are usually looking at recovering the van, a booking days away, and a bill stacking the key, the programming and the transport. But a general locksmith is often no help either: because Maxus is such a new brand, not everyone stocks the blanks or carries software that reads SAIC systems — so the honest first question is always whether the person you call can actually do a Maxus.
Lock City can. We are a mobile van locksmith carrying the specialist tooling and the right blanks to cut and code a Maxus key — flip remote or smart proximity — at the roadside. We handle all-keys-lost on-site with the correct kit, and we tell you honestly what your Maxus needs before we travel. Every replacement van key and key programming job is guaranteed. Call 07967 097 899, Monday to Friday, 8am–5:30pm.
Maxus Key Systems Explained
Because Maxus is a young brand, its key systems are consistently modern — there is no decades-old legacy system to untangle, but the flip-side is that programming needs current, SAIC-capable tooling that not every locksmith carries. Here is the honest picture:
Flip remote key
- Form: a switchblade key with lock/unlock buttons and the cut blade folded into the fob — the standard key on most Maxus vans.
- Transponder: an ID47-class chip (Hitag-3 family) on the SAIC immobiliser [verify against your VIN].
- Replacement: we cut the blade and code the key to the van on-site with specialist software.
Keyless smart proximity key
- Form: a push-button, keep-it-in-your-pocket proximity fob on higher-spec and newer Maxus vehicles [verify against your VIN].
- Security: a lost or stolen smart key is a security event as much as a lockout — we can code a new fob and disable the missing one.
- Replacement: a more involved and more expensive job than a flip key, but one we handle at the roadside.
Parts & tooling — the Maxus catch
- Maxus blanks and fobs are less widely stocked than mainstream vans, so a Maxus job needs a locksmith who actually carries the parts and the SAIC software.
- All-keys-lost is handled on-site with the correct tooling — no recovery to a dealer — provided the van’s system is read correctly.
The honest bit: the exact key type, chip revision and whether yours is keyless vary by model, spec and build date, and only your VIN or registration confirms it [verify against your VIN]. Tell us your reg and we will confirm the key type, the tooling and the realistic route before anyone spends a penny. See our lost car keys service for how all-keys-lost works.
Maxus Key Replacement — Your Questions Answered
Can you actually programme a Maxus key — it’s such a new brand?
Yes. Maxus vans use SAIC electronics with an ID47-class transponder, and we carry the specialist software and blanks to cut and code them at the roadside — flip remote or keyless smart key. Because Maxus is a young marque, many locksmiths cannot; we can, and we confirm it before we travel. See our replacement van keys service.
I’ve lost every key to my Maxus — is that a bigger job?
Yes. All-keys-lost on a Maxus means reading the SAIC immobiliser with the right tooling to authorise a brand-new key — more involved than adding a spare while you still hold a working key. On most Maxus vans we still do it on-site at your roadside, yard or depot, with no dealer recovery. See our lost car keys service.
Is the electric eDeliver 9 a different key job to the diesel?
No — the diesel Deliver 9 and the all-electric eDeliver 9 share the same SAIC key system and immobiliser, so we programme them the same way. If you have lost the key to an eDeliver 9, we treat it exactly like any other Deliver 9.
My Maxus key still turns but the buttons are dead — do I need a new key?
Usually not. On a Maxus this is almost always a flat coin-cell fob battery or worn micro-switches, not a failed transponder. We can test it, replace the battery or repair the fob for a fraction of a new key.
Is my keyless Maxus at risk of relay theft?
Like any keyless vehicle, yes — a Maxus with a proximity smart key can be a relay-theft target. Keep the fob in a Faraday pouch, store the spare away from the front of the building, and after any theft have the van re-coded so the missing key is disabled. If a fob has been stolen, see our stolen car keys service.
